AUDIOLOGY - HEARING AIDS

Over 20 million Americans experience some form of
hearing problem.

Please scroll down further to view our questions and answers section.

Do you often ask people to repeat what they have said?
Do you often complain that people mumble or speak too softly?
Do you have difficulty understanding words in the presence of noise?
Do you experience noises in your head, such as ringing or buzzing?
Do you have dizziness or balance problems?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, a hearing examination may be in order. Together, Dr. Jones and Mr. Gamewell examine ear problems and give appropriate recommendations for solving them. Dr. Jones consults patients regarding medical management of ear problems. Mr. Gamewell performs hearing evaluations, electrophysiologic tests, consults patients regarding amplification issues, fits hearing aids and assistive listening devices, and helps patients with vestibular rehabilitation.

We welcome you to explore your hearing, amplification options, and balance problems with us.

Amplification

Amplification may be an option for you. Appropriately fit hearing instruments increase the user's ability to listen in the presence of background noise. Digitally programmable instruments provide a customized fit for individualized performance and ease of use. Instruments are made in a variety of styles and sizes, which can be explored during an office visit. A 45 day trial period begins all new hearing aid fittings. This ensures the patient adjusts to the new experience. If the patient is not satisfied during this time, the patient may return the hearing aids for a refund, minus a restocking fee. Hearing aids come with a one year warranty which covers defects, loss, and damage. Not all hearing impairments are effectively treated with hearing aids, but we offer the opportunity for patients to explore their options for treatment.
